Embryo Donation overview of the law & thoughts regarding adoption

There are approximately 500,000 cryopreserved embryos in the U.S., some have been frozen for over 10 years. Most embryos are frozen 3-5 days after fertilization. Many families who have been through IVF and have excess embryos must now make dispositional choices for future use of embryos. These include freezing them for future use by the Intended Parents; donating them to research; donating to another infertile couple as an embryo donation/adoption; thawed but not permitted to undergo further development; or in some cases, after a period of time or failure to pay storage fees, disposed of by the clinic.

Ms. Stockham has represented parties donating and also those receiving donated embryos and can represent you through this process. She has also worked with Fertility Clinics in settling up an embryo donation programs.
